Listen here!

Cinderella is a wonderful dreamy folky song. Written and recorded during the lockdown, with the collaboration of Bertolf Lentink and producer Len van de Laak.

Fairy tales suggest that after every big adventure there's a 'happily ever after' waiting. In reality it seems big life events just keep coming, one after another. Just when you think things have settled down, life surprises you, and you can wonder who you will be this time.

Cinderella, what's your name?

Once upon a time my love
I danced on perfect J'adiors
round and round the night away
then my feet got tired

Happily ever after seems
not to be the end of things
another line to be walked
on shoes that used to fit

All my life I waited for
him to come knock at my door
save me hold me love me more
this is where I draw the line
in the sand, I don't mind
I can do it on my own

Cinderella
what's your name?
since your prince left your fairytale
who are you girl, behind the scenes?
Cinderella
I know how you feel

Maybe you are lost my friend
visiting the promised land
full of velvet full of gold
though nothing there may last

Could it be you're on your own
not that lonely, just alone
what is real? it's what you feel
might not be the truth

All my life I waited for
you to come knock at my door
save me hold me love me more
this is where I draw the line
in the sand, I don't mind
please come in you're welcome

Cinderella
what's your name?
since your prince left your fairytale
who are you girl, behind the scenes?
Cinderella
I know how you feel

Let's call you Joan of Arc
or Cleopatra
choose who you wanna be
another you

Cinderella
what's your name?
since your prince left your fairytale
who are you girl, behind the shame?
Cinderella
throw your heels away
